Anti-stress holiday on Mount Semenic


The trip to the Banat Mountains will lead you to a pleasant and original area, in the south-western part of Romania. The Banat Mountains belong to the Western Carpathians and are known in Romania due to their richness in snow. One can make use of all the advantages of civilisation, but discover wild, virgin areas, may follow the tracks of the German colonists who arrived here during the 18th and 15th centuries admire the rare minerals found in the Banat Mountains and live in the comfortable BIRTA villas, resting on American waterbeds. The tourist may relax by taking long walks, enjoying the wild climate or by taking an ice-cold bath into the Eagles` Lake.


PROGRAMME

1st DAY / FRIDAY
- Arrival at BIRTA Village - optional route to Semenic: train to Resita Sud+bus to Semenic, plane to Timisoara,+ train to Resita, then bus; by car: Resita- Cuptoare - Valiug - Pasul Prislop - Semenic. Transfer Timisoara - Resita- Semenic can be done,on request, by BIRTA GROUP cars
- Visit of the BIRTA Village
- Dinner, sauna
- Resting

2 nd DAY /SATURDAY
- Sauna and breakfast
- Trip: the BIRTA village - peak „Nedeia". If the atmosphere is clear you can sea the danube. When coming back you take a bath in the icy water of „Eagles' Lake".

- Lunch at the restaurant of BIRTA village
- Rest in the afternoon, or if you wish to use our advise: discover by yourself the sorroundings !
- Dinner, sauna

3rd DAY / SUNDAY
- Sauna and breakfast
- Trip to Garâna - path leads you over the peak Semenic, near to one of the springs of the Timis river, through the dense fir forest
- Lunch at Garâna
- Walk to the „Teacher's House"
- Transfer back to Mount Semenic
- Dinner, sauna

4th DAY / MONDAY
- Sauna and breakfast
- Trip to Valiug
- Descending by Gozna peak,you arrive at „Crivaia" and „Vila Klaus". Visit the trout farm and fish your lunch
- Lunch at camp fire.
- Walk around the „Gozna" lake
- Transfer back to Mount Semenic
- Dinner, sauna

5th DAY /TUESDAY
- Sauna and breakfast
- Trip to the spring of Nera river. You pass by the Nedeia peak, then downwards through wild, but beautiful valleys.
- Traditional lunch at the shepherd
- Return through Nergana valley
- Visit the mountain church
- Dinner, sauna

6th DAY /WESNEDAY
- Sauna and breakfast
- Walk through the woods,by the Semenic creek to the „Trei Ape" Lake you sorround the whole lake
- Dinner at the „Trei Ape" restaurant
- Walk to Brebu Nou
- Transfer back to Mount Semenic
- Dinner at camp fire

7th DAY /THURSDAY
- Sauna and breakfast
- Trip to Ocna de Fier - you visit the Museum of Esthetic Mineralogy and see samples of quartz, unique in the world; there is possibility of buying some samples
- Introduction to the world of quartz energy - demonstration of energy transfer
- Lunch in Resita and shopping
- Transfer back to Mount Semenic
- Festive dinner

8th DAY /FRIDAY
- Sauna and breakfast
- Transfer Mount Semenic - Resita; also Resita-Timisoara,on request
- Return home
General information

Access:
      - by train to Resita, then transfer to Mount Semenic
      - by plane to Timisoara, then transfer to Mount Semenic
Daily trips:
      - 5-7 hours, free of charge participation,not compulsiv
Participants:
      - groups of maximum 20 persons
Conditions:
      - Tourists from abroad who need visa for Romania are kindly asked to contact BIRTA GROUP agencies in Romania for further information
Equipment:
      - Please use suitable clothes and, above all, comfortable and boots for the trips.No special equipment needed
Climate:
      - In winter between -5 to -20°C; continuous gentle breath of wind; compact snow layer from November until April (6,5 months / year); during summer between +10 - +25°C; generally pleasant climate, well tolerable climate, even for children
Kitchen:
      - If you are not on a trip, at BIRTA Village.You may select from international kitchen and traditional Romanian food
Accommodation:

      - BIRTA Village consists of 8 villas (48 places), bar and restaurant. Each villa has, on the floor, too bedrooms with waterbeds and a bathroom. On the ground floor, there is an apartment consisting of a bedroom and a livingroom with extesible couch. The apartment and the upstairs bedrooms have separate entrance. Each room has colour TV and phone connected an international network. The BIRTA Village on Mount Semenic may be considered the most modern turistic point in Romania
